How are you doing? I have received your letter. I'm still excited now although I have had my little sister for nearly one month. I am no longer lonely at home because I can play with my little sister in my free time. She's like an angel. I would like to share everything with her. What's more, since I have my little sister, I've understood my parents more. They are so tired, working as well as caring for us. So I always help look after my sister and I become more responsible.
As for how to gel on well with a younger brother or sister, I have some ideas. Treat him or her with our real love. We're sisters and brothers in the same family, and they are not old enough to look after themselves. We should take good care of them when our parents are not in. Also, don't show our disappointment to them. After all, they are younger than us and they can't stand in our shoes. I really hope we can get along well with our younger sister or brother.

2． A DIY bookmark for my favourite
book
Last week I took part in our school's Reading & Bookmark-making activity. Its purpose was to help us enjoy reading our favourite book. My favorite book is the classic novel Journey to the West, one of the Four Great Classical Novels. I like Monkey King best because he helps the weak and never gives up.
In order to make a bookmark, I prepared a card, scissors, glue and so on. First, I cut the card into long strips. And then I drew a picture of a monkey on the left and wrote a famous saying "Nothing is impossible if you put your heart into it." on the right to encourage me not to give up when facing difficulties. At last, I glued it to a thin piece of wood.
Although I met some difficulties in this process, I never gave up and I am proud of myself.

3． To Learn, To Grow
Every experience is a learning experience, and we can always learn something valuable from it.

Last term, there was an English speech contest in my school. I decided to take part in it, because I thought I was good at speaking English and I had some experience in giving speeches. I was sure I could win the contest easily, so I spent little time practicing. Did I win? Of course not. The winner was Jim, one of my

classmates, who had practiced after school every day.

"Practice makes perfect", as the saying goes. No one can succeed without hard work. This is what I learned from my failure. If there's another chance, I'll take it seriously and do my best.

Life skills are necessary for us teenagers. To live more healthily and happily, we are supposed to learn

more new skills. As for me, I would like to choose cooking, which is a basic skill in our daily life. It's

wonderful to create my own dishes. Besides, learning to look after my family is also my wish.

In order to develop my cooking skill, I will first ask my mother for help. I think the dishes she cooks are the most delicious in the world. And it's also a good idea to learn from the cooking videos online.

5． The Person I Want to Express My Thanks
In my life, many people helped and influenced me a lot. The person I want to express my thanks most is my English teacher Mr. Lee. He is tall and thin. He has short black hair and wears glasses. He is always friendly and patient with us.
When I was in Grade 8, my English was very poor. One day, he asked me to take part in an English speech contest. He said, "Your pronunciation is really good. Try your best. I believe in you". With the help of Mr. Lee, I got the first prize. My English improved a lot.
Mr. Lee has a great influence on me, I am grateful to him. I will work hard to become better. I think that's the best gift for my dear teacher.

My favorite saying is, "Only your real friends will tell you when your face is dirty". It makes me think of my best friend. Her name is Li Xia. She's serious about everything. She really cares about me and always tells me about my bad points to my face. Once, I couldn't answer some difficult questions in a math test, so I opened the book and then wrote them down. Luckily, no one saw me. But after the test, Li Xia said she saw me open the book. She thought that it's not right for me to do that. My face turned red. In a word, we must develop good living habits so as to keep healthy.

8． Me and my after-class course
In my school, there are many kinds of after-class courses. I choose the course of DIY. DIY literally

means making things by hand.

My first assignment was to use the colored bubble mud commonly used by primary school students now, paste a colored blessing on the small board, and then make a frame with colored wool. Because I think everyone has a different understanding of happiness. I made a word Fu into color. It's quite a test of a person's patience to do some simple handicrafts, such as cross stitch, folding thousand paper crane...
Through this study, I learned that we can make handmade in many ways. Waste beverage bottles, wool, ice cream sticks and so on can become raw materials for handmade. We can create our own satisfactory works through our own imagination.
