Let me introduce myself a little bit. I’m Xu Zhuo, a Senior teacher of English with High School Attached to Northeast Normal University. I’m teaching Senior Three this year and this is my third time to be a teacher of Grade Three. I fell honored tot have the chance to help the third graders with their college entrance examinations. What makes me feel more honored is I was chosen to be the Senior Three English teacher at e-school this year. I’m committed to doing my best, and hopefully you will enjoy my on-line teaching. Well, my teaching on line is based on Senior English for China (Book 3) issued by People’s Education Publishing House in June of 2005. Basically it will take us 6 days to finish a unit. The following is how the teaching contents of a unit is to be allotted . In the Prevision Part, you will be provided with some background information on the topic of the unit. Also the unit will be briefly introduced in terms of its goals, key words and phrases, the contents of the passages, grammatical items and so on. And I will cover some suggested learning strategies for you to learn the unit well. And you will read my teaching on the language points from Warming up, Listening, Speaking sections. Some related exercises are following to consolidate what you have achieved. Revision Part firstly focuses on the main reading passage in perspective of comprehension, key language points and exercises. Then it deals with the Grammatical Item of the unit and exercises related. Plus, NMET Link is provided to illustrate what to acquire in a more serious way. Practice Part is about the language points we will have in Intergrading Skills section and the workbook. And finally, you can access your knowledge and then abilities to use it in Improvement Part by going over plenty of high-quality exercises. This is the time to give what you have captured an adaptation and therefore, to build your confidence. That’s all my schedule. Are you clear about my plan? Good luck with you in the new semester! Unit 1 That must be a record! I. Background Information The Guinness Book of World Records In 1951, Sir Hugh Beaver, then the managing director of the Guinness Brewery, went on a shooting party and became involved in an argument.
