Unit 10 I’m going to be a basketball player. Section A 1a-1c (教学设计) 一、教材内容分析 This period provides us 3 parts. In this period, students learn the names of different kinds of professions and learn to talk about future intentions. Activity 1a provides students some kinds of professions, students review earlier vocabulary and know some new words. Like: engineer, pilot and so on. Activity 1b provides listening practice using the target language. Students listen and match the professions to the action. Activity 1c provides guided oral practice using the target language: What are you going to be when you grow up? How are you going to do that? They make up conversations to talk about future jobs. From words to phrases then to sentences, these three parts are connected with each other. And the difficulty is increasing step by step. 二、教学重难点 Important points: professional, act, computer programmer etc. Difficult points :What are you going to be when you grow up? How are you going to do that? 三、教学目标 1.Moral training aims The topic in this period is just the one students always talk about in their daily life. After studying this period, students will love their life more than before. Also, they will work harder than before to make their dreams come true in the future. 2.Knowledge aims There are four sentences structures in this period: What are you going to be when you grow up? I’m going to be a basketball player. How are you going to do that? I’m going to practice basketball every day. And grow up, computer programmer, computer science, engineer, pilot, professional, act are the new words students have to grasp. 3.Ability aims In this lesson, different kinds of methods can be used to train students’ four skills. Like listening to a tap, pairwork, writing a short passage about their friends’ professions in the future. 四、教学过程 Step 1 Reviewing (Class Work)(3minutes) This part is talking about future intentions. It mainly uses the future tense. So it’s necessary to review the future tense first. Ask the students some questions: Where are you going this Sunday? What are you doing then? Are you going shopping this Sunday? Students can answer these questions with their real situation. 【 点评: 新课前的导入是很重要的,复习将来时是很有必要的,这对于学生理解新句型是有帮助的。选择将来时进行导入对新课做了很好的铺垫。】 Step 2 Presentation(10minutes) 1.Present: -What are you going to be when you grow up? -I’m going to be a…(Class Work) This time teachers should spend more time presenting the words and structure sentences. They may say to the class: I’m preparing my lesson this Sunday. Because I’m a teacher. I’m very busy as a teacher. And ask them: Are you going to be a teacher? Of course, some will say no. So ask : What are you going to be when you grow up? At the same time, show a picture to the students.(On the picture, there is a girl dreaming of being a dancer.) Students look at this picture, they can guess the meaning of “grow up” easily. And help the students to answer: I am going to be a… Teach students to read and practice asking and answering the sentences “What are you going to be when you grow up? I am going to be a…” in pairs, teams, boys and girls. 2. Present the words of different kinds of jobs: engineer, pilot, computer programmer, actor, etc Task 1 Rank the jobs(Class Work) Show a group of pictures of different kinds of jobs. Some of the jobs they have learnt, but some not. Teach the jobs they haven’t learnt to them, like: engineer, pilot, computer programmer, actor, etc. After learning the jobs, give the students a task to do. Give them a form, let them write down the jobs from the most interesting to the least interesting. And survey how many students are going to be pilots and so on. Jobs Number Interesting jobs How many students are going to be 1 pilot 20 2 3 4 【点评: 这部分的呈现分为了两部分,先呈现句型,再呈现表职业的单词。在呈现句型时,教师通过与学生的自由交谈,让学生对句型及词组“grow up”理解的很好,并且,通过老师谈自己的工作,也能激发学生谈自己未来工作的欲望。在呈现单词时,主要借助一组图片让学生认识这些职业。通过图片教学,学生学单词更直观,记忆更深刻。再随着任务的展开,学生更加巩固这一系列的单词,兴趣也更浓了,学习效率大大提高了。】 Step 3 Practice(5minutes) Task 2 Ask and answer in pairs about their future jobs(Pairwork) Students may work in pairs to talk about their future jobs. They may use the pictures of different kinds of jobs and the target language: -What are you going to be when you grow up? -I’m going to be a … 【点评: 这是口语练习,通过刚才老师的带读、分组读等一系列的机械性练习,学生这个时候的问和答应该比较自如了,他们可以选择自己喜欢的或了解的进行一问一答。这一环节既巩固了句型和单词,也为后面的句型奠定了基础。】 Step 4 Presentation(7minutes) 1.Present: -How are you going to do that? -I’m going to do more sports. (Class Work) Ask a student who wants to be a pilot to stand up and say: you are going to be a pilot, and how are you going to do that? Explain to the class: if you want to be a pilot, what are you going to do? Help to answer: I’m going to do more sports. 2.Ask and answer in pairs(Pairwork) H ave the students practice asking and answering in pairs. 【点评: 通过老师的引导,让学生明白,为了实现自己的梦想,必须要付出努力,借此机会,对学生进行很好的情感教育,这也是英语课堂必不可少的。学生不仅能学会知识,更能明确自己今后的目标了。】 Step 5 Listening(5minutes) 1. Listen and match (Individual Work) The following is a practice of listening, students listen to four short conversations and match the form. 2. Listen and repeat (Class Work) Ask the students to listen again and repeat. This time ask the students to try to imitate the pronunciation and intonation of the recording. 【点评: 这部分听力练习,主要是检验学生对今天所学的句型和单词能否听懂、是否可以捕捉住关键句和词。并把信息点能填入到正确的表格内。其实每节课都必须给学生一点听力方面的练习,每天一点,学生负担并不大,但学生可以通过每天多听多做题的方式,慢慢领悟到做听力题的技巧和方法,从而提高听力能力。学生跟读对话的训练可以帮助学生掌握朗读技巧。】 Step 6 Groupwork(10minutes) Task 3 Talk about how to be a… Students can work in groups of three of four. They can ask each other using the target language: -What are you going to be when you grow up? -I’m going to be a… -How are you going to do that? -I’m going to … Give them some time to prepare and act out.The teacher will also give a summary for each show. 【点评: 这个环节的训练将课堂气氛推向了高潮。本环节的口语训练遵循了由易到繁,循序渐进的过程。从机械训练开始,过渡到半机械训练,最后在较真实的情景中达到自由交际。即请学生上讲台展示他们的对话,让其他学生欣赏,通过对比同学的表演,学生之间彼此找出自己的不足;通过老师的点评及总结,学生进一步掌握本课时语言知识,提高听说技能。同时在教师引导下,学生互相学习,集思广益,激发了学习的兴趣,培养了合作学习的策略。】 Step 7 Writing(5minutes) Task 4 Write a short passage about what their friends are going to be(Class Work) This part is a practice of writing. Since they just have a group work, and they know what their friends are going to be and how they are going to do. Let the students write a short passage about their talking. They may write like this: I have three friends. Zhang Peng is going to be a policeman. He is going to do … Xiao Hui is going to be a … he is going to do… 【点评: 将一节课所学的知识以笔头的形式进行落实,这也是我们常规课必不可少的。以写作的形式对学生进行检测,能让学生很好的认识到自己的问题,在自己的课后,复习的针对性也比较强。】 Homework The homework in this part is to listen to the new words and conversations then follow. Also, they should write a passage about their own future jobs. 【点评: 作业1是课堂听读训练的延伸。旨在让学生听音并模仿,培养良好的语感。 作业2是巩固本节课的词汇及句型,同时为下节课的语言学习起到了承上启下的过渡作用。】 反思: 我认为,要想做到提高课堂效率,首先应做到的是课前充分的准备。课前,在研究了本课时的重难点后,我向部分学生了解了他们的兴趣和长大以后的理想职业。并且,我认真制作了多媒体课件。我认为这样做目的性更强,效果会更明显。 在教学过程中,我采用了5P教学模式,任务型教学模式和小组合作学习多种教学模式相结合,不断优化课堂教学,学生的学习热情最大限度的被激发,这一切都大大的提高了课堂效率。 最后是作业的设计,我努力做到作业的布置要有针对性、趣味性及精简性。两个作业都是本课的一个延伸,有读也有写,写的作业也并不枯燥,是学生很乐意谈的理想职业。通过作业的完成,可以检验出在这样高效的课堂教学下,学生学习的效果。 当然,为了准备这样一堂丰富多彩、受学生欢迎的一节课,花费的备课时间要远远多于一般的备课。但为了减轻学生的负担和提高课堂效率,我觉得这是非常值得的。在减负增效的大背景下,如何更好地提高课堂效率是我们教师不断探索的,我们也必努力的做到让学生学英语不是一种负担,而是一种享受。- 配套讲稿:
