I wonder if it’s because I haven’t been able to be outdoors for so long that I’ve grown so crazy about everything to do with nature. 本句的主干是I wonder if…(主语+谓语+宾语从句), if引导的宾语从句中是一个强调句型:it is + 被强调成分 + that…。(have) to do with意为与……有关。全句意为: 我不知道这是否因为我长久无法出门的缘故,才变得对一切与大自然有关的事物都无比狂热。 2. Warming Up 1. Add up your score and see how many points you get. 将你所得的分数加起来,看看能得多少分。 ▲本句中add up的意思是“加起来”。该短语还可以表示“合计;前后一致”。如: The waiter added up the food check. 侍者把饭菜的钱算了一下。 温馨提示 add up是“动词+副词”构成的短语。这类短语的特点是:宾语如果是名词,可以放在副词前,也可以放在副词后;宾语如果是代词,只能放在动词和副词之间。 She added the bill up. = She added up the bill.她把帐单算了算。 add构成的短语 1)add to增加 Her colleagues' laughter only added to (= increased) her embarrassment. 同事们的嘲笑使她更加窘迫。 2)add …to… 加……,往……添加…… She's added a Picasso to her collection. 她的收藏品中增加了一幅毕加索的画。 3)add up to总共有,总计达 All the numbers add up to exactly 900. 所有的数字加起来是900。 2. When he / she borrowed it last time, he / she broke it and you had to pay to get it repaired. 他 / 她上次借用时,把它弄坏了,你不得不花钱把它修好。 ▲本句使用了get sth done结构。get sth. done相当于have sth. done,意思是“使(某事)被做;使某人遭遇(某事)”。在get sth done结构中,get的意思是“使发生某种情况”,其宾语和宾语补足语之间有逻辑上的动宾关系,故宾补用过去分词。如: I'm trying to get this article finished for Thursday. 我将尽力在星期四完成这篇文章。 3. Your friend comes to school very upset. 你的朋友来上学时心烦意乱。 ▲本句中的upset是形容词用作主语补足语,说明主语your friend来学校时的心情。形容词可以用作主语补足语,补充说明主语所处的状态。如: He returned home cold and hungry. 他又冷又饿地回到了家里。 ▲本句中,upset是形容词,意思是“心烦意乱的”。upset用作形容词时,还可以表示“不舒服的,不适的,难过的”。upset用作动词时,是不规则动词,过去式和过去分词是upset。意思是“弄翻,使……不安,使心烦,扰乱”。如: I will be really upset if you don’t come. 如果你不来,我会很难过的。 4. You will ignore the bell and go somewhere quiet to calm your friend down. 你就不上课了,找个安静的地方安慰你的朋友。 ▲本句中 calm down是“动词+副词”构成的短语,意思“ (使)平静下来”。 Let’s go and calm your angry brother down (= calm down your angry brother). 咱们去安慰一下你那生气的弟弟。 <词义辨析> 1)calm作形容词,指天气、海洋等时,表示一种无风无浪的"平静";指人时,表示镇静平和的心情。 He remained calm. After the storm the sea was calm again. 2)quiet指没有动静,没有噪音,尤指没有骚动的安宁状态。例如: Everything was quiet. Keep quiet. 3)silent用于事物时,侧重没有声响;用于指人时,强调少言寡语。例如: That's a silent film. Why do you keep silent. 4)still侧重于"不动"、"静止"时,与calm,quiet,silent不能替换;侧重于"无声"时,可与quiet替换。 Please keep still while I take a photo of you. How still(quiet)everything is! 5. You will tell your friend that you are concerned about him / her and you will meet after class and talk then. 你告诉你的朋友,你关心他 / 她,下课后与他面谈。 ▲短语be concerned about接近于be worried about,意思是“关心;挂念”。如: Her parents are rather concerned about her study. 父母亲很关心她的学习。 1) be concerned后还可以接that从句或动词不定式。 Aren't you concerned (that) she might tell someone? 你难道不担心她会告诉别人吗? 2) be concerned with / in 与……有关;涉及 More than one person has been concerned with this matter. 不止一个人牵扯到这件事情中。 6. You will tell him / her that he / she should have studied, so you don’t let him / her look at your paper. 你告诉他 / 她,他 / 她以前应该好好学习,你没让他 / 她看你的卷子。 ▲句中的should have studied的意思是“过去应该好好学习”。should have done表示“过去本应该做某事,而实际上没做”,含有责备或后悔的意味。 I should have written to her but I haven't had time. 我早就该给她写信,但是我没有时间。 He also learns that he should have cared more about his friends. 他还明白了他以前应该多关心朋友。 <Reading> 7. Or are you afraid that your friend would laugh at you, or would not understand what you are going through? 你是不是担心朋友会嘲笑你,会不理解你目前的处境? ▲本句中,go through作“经历,经受”讲。go through还可以表示“仔细检查;浏览,翻阅;做完”。如: The country has gone through too many wars. 这个国家经历了太多的战争。 8.
