If you love eating and drinking for free and are looking to make some pocket money, there's a job in China with your name on it. A new type of online service allows people to hire others to eat or drink their favorite treats, either to cure their boredom or satisfy their appetite without the calories that usually come with it. Chinese media recently reported on an increasingly popular service on online platform Taobao that's as startling as it is appealing. People can now go online and hire others to consume certain foods and drinks, and ask them to provide video evidence of them eating or drinking the said treats. Fees usually range from two to nine yuan ($0.30 - $1.35) plus the cost of the food. It's not exactly a get-rich-quick job, but there are quite a rot of people willing to do it for the free treats alone. "Bubble tea drinking" is a particularly popular service, as the chewy tapioca(木薯粉)balls and popping drink is all the rage in Asia these days, but there are also ads from people willing to eat fried chicken or hot pot for anyone willing to pay for them. Advertised as being "fat-free" and "free of queues" those who pay for the service will receive the full experience, which includes a 360-degree video of the drink, photos, and a detailed description. Prices of the service are based on the drink's sweetness level, its price, and popularity. Some clients even require a short written review to be sure that the person they hired actually does what they are supposed to. Sellers explained that most customers buy their "Bubble tea drinking" service maybe because they're trying to shake off desires while they're on a diet. Drinking bubble tea by proxy may help customers avoid high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and other health problems that the sugar-laden drink may cause. So why would anyone pay a total stranger to enjoy a treat rather than consume it themselves? Well, apparently, the online service is so cheap that some people simply do it out of boredom, while others get satisfaction from watching others indulge in their favorite treats. This indulging-by-proxy service(代享受服务)has received a lot of attention on social media in China, with some people describing it as the job of their dreams. (1)What kind of people may buy the new type of online service? A. Those who are boring. B. Those who are trying to lose weight. C. Those who love eating and drinking for free. D. Those who are looking to make some pocket money. (2)Which is the reason for many people being willing to be hired for the new job? A. That they can make a fortune. B. That the foods and drinks are cheap. C. That they can consume the treats for free. D. That they can realize their dreams. (3)Why does the author mention "bubble tea drinking" in Paragraph 4? A. To prove that the new type of service online is popular. B. To list an example of the new type of service online C. To show bubble tea is greatly welcome in Asia. D. To promote the new type of service online. (4)What is the main idea of the passage? A. Indulging-by-proxy service online helps lose weight. B. Boredom leads to indulging-by-proxy service online. C. People hold different opinions on indulging-by-proxy service online. D. Indulging-by-proxy service online is getting increasingly popular. 根据第一段中的“A new type of online service allows people to hire others to eat or drink their favorite treats, either to cure their boredom or satisfy their appetite without the calories that usually come with it.” 根据第三段中的“It's not exactly a get-rich-quick job, but there are quite a rot of people willing to do it for the free treats alone.” 根据第四段中的 “Bubble tea drinking" is a particularly popular service, as the chewy tapioca(木薯粉)balls and popping drink is all the rage in Asia these days, but there are also ads from people willing to eat fried chicken or hot pot for anyone willing to pay for them.““泡茶喝”是一项特别受欢迎的服务,因为这种耐嚼的木薯球和弹出式饮料最近在亚洲风靡一时,但是也有一些广告是关于愿意吃炸鸡或火锅的人的。由此推断出,作者在第四段中提到“泡茶喝”是举出了一个新的网上服务的例子,故选B。 (4)考查主旨大意。最后一段”This indulging-by-proxy service(代享受服务)has received a lot of attention on social media in China, with some people describing it as the job of their dreams.“这种代享受服务在中国的社交媒体上引起了很多关注,一些人把它描述为他们梦想中的工作,是全文的主题句,结合全文内容,可知这篇文章主要讲了网上代享受服务越来越受欢迎,故选D。 【点评】本题考点涉及细节理解,推理判断和主旨大意三个题型的考查,是一篇社会现象类阅读,要求考生在捕捉细节信息的基础上,进一步根据上下文的逻辑关系,进行分析,推理,概括和归纳,从而选出正确答案。 2.阅读理解 Being forgiving to yourself and others can protect against stress and the harm it does to mental health, according to a new study in the Journal of Health Psychology. Researchers looked at the effects of lifetime stress on a person's mental health, and how more forgiving people got along compared with people who weren't so forgiving. To do this, they asked 148 young adults to fill out questionnaires that assessed their levels of lifetime stress, their tendency to forgive and their mental and physical health. No surprise, people with greater exposure to stress had worse mental and physical health. But the researchers also discovered that if people were highly forgiving of both themselves and others, that characteristic alone almost removed the connection between stress and mental illness. "It's almost entirely erased—it's zero," says study author Toussaint. "If you don't have forgiving tendencies, you feel the immediate effects of stress in a severe way. You don't have anything to cushion you against that stress." How a forgiving personality protects a person from the influence of severe stress is hard to determine. The researchers infer that people who are more forgiving may adopt better skills to deal with stress, or their reaction to major stressors(压力源)may be slow. Though more research is needed to fully understand the benefits of being more forgiving, Toussaint believes"100%"that forgiveness can be learned. His own previous research has shown that saying a short prayer on forgiveness can help people take the edge off. "I think most people want to feel good and forgiveness offers you the opportunity to do that," he says. (1)The researchers got the effect of forgiving by_____. A. analyzing questionnaires B. doing scientific experiment C. writing research papers D. communicating with 148 adults (2)What can we infer from the passage? A. Forgiving tendencies can deal with all mental problems. B. It remains unknown why forgiveness helps to reduce stress. C. Toussaint's study has fully discovered the benefits of being forgiving. D. Saying a short prayer on forgiveness is the key to getting rid of stress. (3)What does the underlined phrase "take the edge off' in the last paragraph probably mean? A. Look ahead. B. Become relaxed. C. Make up their mind. D. Stick to their goals. (4)What may be the best title for the passage? A. A new study on physical health B. Forgiving yourself makes you feel good C. Forgiveness is good for mental health D. Getting rid of stress is good for your health 【答案】 (1)A (2)B (3)B (4)C 【解析】【分析】研究发现拥有一颗宽容的心,能减少焦虑和压力,让人心理健康。 (1)细节理解题。根据文章第二段的To do this, they asked 148 young adults to fill out questionnaires that assessed their levels of lifetime stress,可知,为了弄明白真相,研究人员让148个人填写了问卷调查,即他们是通过研究问卷调查来得出宽容的影响,故选A项。 (2)推理判断题。根据文章第五段的How a forgiving personality protects a person from the influence of severe stress is hard to determine. 可知目前很难确定宽容是如何防止人们不受严重压力的伤害,故推断宽容可以减少压力的原因是未知的,故选B项。 (3)词义猜测题。根据画线部分下文的I think most people want to feel good and forgiveness offers you the opportunity to do that可知宽容能让人感觉良好,故推测画线部分所在句子意思是:说一个和宽容相关的祷言能让人感觉良好。故划线部分的意思和"感觉良好"接近,故选B项。 (4)主旨大意题。通读全文可知,第一段为主题段,根据文章第一段的Being forgiving to yourself and others can protect against stress and the harm it does to mental health,可知本文主要讲述宽容对精神健康有好处,故选C项。 【点评】考查阅读理解。本文涉及细节理解题、推理判断题、词义猜测题和主旨大意题,细节理解题要注意从文中寻找答案;推理判断题需要联系上下文,推断出需要的信息;词义猜测题,要联系上下文,猜测划线词在题中的含义;主旨大意题需要通读全文,了解大意之后找出中心思想。 3.阅读理解 I have three kids and a great husband and I'm enjoying a career that I find challenging and fun. This feels like "Success" to the outside world. But there is still a voice in my heart asking if this is who I truly am. Only in silence do I hear the self and wonder who that person might be. So I booked a trip to find out. I travelled, for the first time, without my husband or kids. I went to Iceland with a friend, who shares an appreciation for wilderness and silence. For six days, we were immersed in wild, raw scenery and real weather—all kinds of weather. Climbing a mountain against rain and returning to a tent for a simple meal reminds you how little you actually need. And how strong it feels to be uncomfortable sometimes. I found silence in Iceland, and time to consider the me outside of career and the me outside of kids as I shared stories with strangers. When I stopped talking and just listened,I became more generous. I 1earned that choosing to be generous can create more space, more food and more warmth. But I didn't really gain any better appreciation of what I want from life or my job. I suspect the anxiety that drove me to seek silence in Iceland was losing sight of my ability to choose gratitude and joy,and to be present in the challenges I set in my career and my family. I came home to noise, rush and love; with no less confusion on who I want to be. I know the answer isn't waiting out there on the top of a mountain in Iceland. The answer is in front of me with every step on my own 1ife's path, and in every choice I make. (1)Why did the author take a trip to Iceland? A. To gain a new experience. B. To enjoy family happiness. C. To better understand herself. D. To appreciate natural beauty. (2)Which word can best describe the author's trip? A. Puzzling B. Thrilling C. Relaxing D. Demanding (3)What change happened to the author after the trip? A. She became more positive B. She became more energetic C. She became even lonelier D. She became more anxious (4)What will the author do in the future? A. Withdraw back to nature. B. Embrace reality bravely. C. Travel to Iceland more often. D. Pay less attention to her feelings. 【答案】 (1)C (2)D (3)A (4)B 【解析】【分析】本文是一篇记叙文,为了寻找真正的自我,作者踏上了冰岛之旅。回来之后,她意识到答案不在遥远的冰岛,而在平平淡淡的日常生活和工作中。 (1)考查细节理解。根据第一段和第二段中的“But there is still a voice in my heart asking if this is who I truly am. Only in silence do I hear the self and wonder who that person might be. So I booked a trip to find out.”可知作者心里一直有疑问,那就是"我是真正的自己吗?",所以作者预定了旅行去寻找答案,即她去冰岛旅行的目的是寻找真正的自我,故选C。 (2)考查推理判断。根据第三段中的“Climbing a mountain against rain and returning to a tent for a simple meal reminds you how little you actually need. And how strong it feels to be uncomfortable sometimes. ”可知作者在冰岛旅行时冒雨爬山,饮食简单,并且体验到了种种不适,故推测作者的旅行是艰苦的,故选D。 (3)考查推理判断。根据最后一段中的“with no less confusion on who I want to be. 和 The answer is in front of me with every step on my own 1ife's path, and in every choice I make. ”可知作者不再困惑,她知道真正自我的答案就在日常生活中,就在她所做出的每个选择中,故推测作者旅行回来后变乐观了。故选A。 (4)考查推理判断。根据倒数第二段中的“I suspect the anxiety that drove me to seek silence in Iceland was losing sight of my ability to choose gratitude and joy,and to be present in the challenges I set in my career and my family. ”可知作者怀疑驱使她去冰岛的焦虑正在让她失去选择感恩和快乐的能力,也让她看不到在家庭和事业中的挑战。故推测作者以后不会逃避生活,并且能够勇敢面对生活中暂时的困惑。故选B。 【点评】本题考点涉及细节理解和推理判断两个题型的考查,是一篇故事类阅读,考生需要准确掌握细节信息,并根据上下文进行逻辑推理,从而选出正确答案。 4.阅读理解 DNA analysis has revealed family relationships between more than 10 generations of Stone Age people at megalithic (巨石的) tombs in Ireland and Sweden. The evidence suggests that megaliths, prehistoric large stone structures, sometimes acted as graves for family groups in northwestern Europe thousands of years ago. The latest findings throw new light on the origins and social structure of the groups that built megaliths in this region—a history that has long been hidden in mystery. For their study, the international team of researchers analyzed the genomes—the complete set of genetic material in a cell—of 24 Stone Age individuals from five megalithic burial sites in Ireland, Scotland and Gotland, a large Swedish island in the Baltic Sea. This analysis showed that many of the individuals buried at each megalith, who all lived between 3,800 B.C. and 2,600 B.C., according to radiocarbon-dating of their remains, were closely related via family ties. The results also showed that the individuals buried at the megaliths were related to Neolithic farmers in northern and western Europe but genetically distinct from other hunter-gatherers. This was particularly noticeable at the Ansarve site on the island of Gotland. "The people buried in the Ansarve tomb are remarkably different on a genetic level compared to the individuals dug out from hunter-gather contexts, showing that the burial tradition in this megalithic tomb, which lasted for over 700 years, was performed by distinct groups with roots in the European Neolithic expansion," Magdalena Fraser, co-first author from Uppsala University, said in the statement. (1)What's the significance of the new findings? A. It reveals the family ties between people in Ireland and Sweden. B. It implies that many people buried in the tombs were closely related. C. It indicates the long-hidden mystery concerning DNA analysis. D. It suggests that the megaliths became tombs thousands of years ago. (2)How did the researchers reach their findings? A.By interviewing individuals. B.By travelling to different regions. C.By analyzing genes. D.By studying the burial sites. (3)Which is true according to the latest findings? A.Some people buried in the tombs were related to farmers. B.Few people buried in the tombs were genetically different. C.All the people buried at megaliths had family relationships. D.People buried in the Ansarve tomb were dug out 700 years later. (4)What's the main idea of this passage? A.Megaliths served as tombs thousands of years ago. B.People buried at the megaliths were recently analyzed. C.Latest findings shed light on a mystery about burials. D.Stone-Age people in Ireland and Sweden had- 配套讲稿:
