语法填空主要考察语法知识。主要包括句子结构、词汇的本义和转义以及前后缀的变化、形名动副之间的修饰关系、介词、连词、冠词、代词、谓语动词非谓语动词的判断、名词单复数所有格问题、形容词副词的比较级最高级问题等。

英语语法填空词性变化规律
1.名词形式变化规律
名词的形式变化主要有单数、复数、所有格的变化。
2.动词形式变化规律
动词的形式变化比较多，有谓语的变化(时态、语态)，有非谓语的变化(不定式、动名词、现在分词、过去分词)。
3.代词形式变化规律
代词形式变化通常是与人称变化有关的三大类五小类，即人称代词(主格和宾格)、物主代词(形容词性和名词性)、反身代词。

语篇型语法填空备考思路
大致有如下特点：
一、给出动词原形
①、先判断句子是否缺谓语：
是，考虑常见的七种时态亦或是它们的被动形式；
不是，考虑非谓语，
牢记：不定式to do表目的、将来；现在分词表主动、进行；过去分词表被动、完成。
②、少数情况下也会出现词性词形转化(转为名词、形容词)。
二、给出形容词
①、需要填写比较级、最高级；
②、转化为副词；
③、填写反义词(前缀)；
三、给出副词
①、填写比较级、最高级；
②、填写反义词；
四、不给提示词
主要填写介词、连词、冠词和代词。
总结：
有提示词：考查谓语动词、非谓语动词、形容词、副词、名词
无提示词：考查冠词、介词、连词、代词
