在英语词的音、形、义三者中,义是最重要的。同音、近音不同形;同音、近音不同义;一词多义等,都给听力增加了难度。关键是从句子和上下文中正确牌义。正确辦音是听力理解最基本的技能。英语中不少单音词在发音上十分相似。这些近音词有的元音相近,有的辅音相近,而且大多是常用词,给听力设置了许多障碍:同音词的辦别是听力理解过程中确定词义、句义的另一大障碍,可以分为同音异义词和一词多义词。要正确判断一词多义,关键在于注意句子的整体意思,根据该词在句中的位置和语义关系来判断。如果不能分辨出每个词的正确发音,词义的理解上就会出现偏差,甚至跟原文完全相反。要做到准确辨音,就必须做到正确地拼读学到的每个单词,注意对常见的音近字进行整理、归类和区分,这样在听材料时才不会混。适应连读 英语作为一种音韵的语言,朗读速度普遍快于中文,一些包含多个从句结构的句子往往是一气呵成。特别是在对话中,语速往往更快。在快速朗读中的一个特点就是存在大量的连读现象,即一个句子中单词之间没有停顿,而是首尾相接地自然连接起来的。例:1.The room is so crowded that I can hardly turn around in it.2.The plane is flying at an altitude of 9 000 kilometers.对于不熟悉这种读法或很少练听力的人,可能在一长句读完后,根本不知在说些什么。所以,在听英语材料时,一定要努力跟上其朗读节奏,切不要停下来描摩某个单词而漏掉后面大段句子。听出不完全爆破 在同一单词内或相邻两单词之间还大量存在发音不完全爆破现象。在一个单词内部当两个辅音字母相邻时,很难同时读出两个“有冲突”的发音,因此就采用不完全爆破发音,即对前一个辅音发音只作口型,仅有很轻微的发音或根本不发音,以保持整个朗读的连贯性。至于两个单词之间的不完全爆破则更为常见,主要表现在前一个单词结尾与后个单词开头都是辅音发音,有时无法进行同化发音,就必须对前一个辅音发音进行不完全爆破。注意不同的语调 语调是表达思想感情的重要手段之一,相同的词句所用的语调不同,表达的内涵也不同。英语中有着最基本的语调规则,即:陈述句、祈使句、特殊疑问句习惯使用降调;普通疑问句用升调,但是,在实际的用语中存在着较多的特殊情况。(1)当陈述句用于表达说话者的不肯定、疑虑、安慰、抱歉、无能为力、轻蔑、不耐烦等情绪时用升调。(2)祈使句在表达非常委婉而礼貌的叮嘱、吩咐、请求等情况下,比如同事之间、密友之间、关系融洽的上下级之间,用升调。这样的语气既委婉客气,又不失威严。(3)当讲话的人在陈述完一段情况后对自己的陈述不太肯定,或只想加重肯定语气,因此在句子后边加上一个短问句。这种反义疑问句中,如果讲话者对所陈述情况不太肯定,希望对方确认一下,就用升调;而如果讲话者对自己的陈述比较有把握,或只想反问一下以加强语气,则用降调。T
