Two years ago,our teacher, Mr. Alex offered us an answer of a difficult math problem in class. Because the answer seemed a little strange, nobody but I doubted it. Thought that his solution might be wrong, I carefully analyzed the problem and try to work it out in a different way. Half a hour later, I managed to find the correct answer. When I showed my answer to her, the teacher praised me for my independently thinking. From this experience, I have been learnt that questioning can serve as a bridge helps us to seek the truth. Questioning can lead to searching for an answer. If we are in the habit of asking whether that we what are told is true, we can find the correct answer and learn more. Two years ago,our teacher, Mr. Alex offered us an answer of a difficult math problem in class. to Because the answer seemed a little strange, nobody but I doubted it. Thought that his solution Although/Though Thinking might be wrong, I carefully analyzed the problem and try to work it out in a different way. Half a tried an hour later, I managed to find the correct answer. When I showed my answer to her, the teacher him praised me for my independently thinking. independent From this experience, I have been learnt that questioning can serve as a bridge ∧helps us to seek been which/that或helps 改helping the truth. 故将that改为what。 an/the answer to… Alex可知,此处要用him,故将her改为him。 21. Most people know the feeling when you walk into a lift(电梯) with other people. A study has found that where people stand is based on their social position on entering the lift. Rebekah Rousi, a Ph.D. student, did a study of lift behavior in two of the tallest office buildings in Adelaide, Australia. As part of her research, she took a total of 30 lift rides in the two buildings, and discovered there was a fixed order about where people chose to stand. In her research paper, she wrote that more senior men seemed to walk straight towards the back of the lift. She said , “in front of them were younger men, and in front of them were women of all ages.” She also noticed there was a difference in the direction where people look during the ride. “Men watched the monitors, looked in the side mirrors (in one building) to see themselves, and in the door mirrors (in the other building) to watch others. Women would watch the monitors and avoid looking into others’ eyes (unless in conversations) and the mirrors.” Rebekah Rousi concluded that shyer people stand toward the front, where they can’t see other passengers, while fearless people stand in the back, where they have a good view of everyone else. 64. Imagine looking at a view of mountaintops and wondering about the name of each peak. Suddenly, above each mountaintop, a name appears on the sky. The words are not written in smoke by skywriting planes. The words are actually not in the sky at all. They come from tiny computers in contact lenses(隐形眼镜). Computers have become smaller and smaller over the decades. The first computers filled houses. Transistors(晶体管) and then chips allowed computers to become small enough to fit on a desktop, then a laptop, and finally a phone. When experimenting with further reductions in size, developers often have to deal with the limits of human eyesight. One new solution employs microprojectors(微型投影机) to create a readable display(显示) for tiny computers. These machines project computer information onto any surface. Though an impressive breakthrough, there are potential problems. Such public displays can lead to privacy concerns; most people do not want their information displayed on a wall for everyone to see. Besides, these projectors are extremely expensive, and their screens give users headaches. Babak Parviz, a researcher at the University of Washington, created another solution: inventing a screen visible only to a person wearing a contact lens. Parviz created a computer in a contact lens that uses the wearer’s field of vision as the display. At some point, Parviz says, it will be possible to connect the lens to a remote personal computer device such as a cellphone or a laptop. By looking in a certain direction, the wearer sends the computer visual information about what he or she sees. The device then uses this information to point out the names of peaks. These contact lenses are inserted and removed in much the same way as ordinary contact lenses. In addition, the computers in the lenses won’t block the wearer's sight at all. Although now the computers are not on lenses treating eyesight problems, Parviz hopes that someday the technology will progress to that level. 54.It can be inferred from the 1st paragraph that . A. The contact lenses can treat eyesight problems B. The contact lenses can only offer beautiful views of nature C. Computers have become smaller and smaller over the decades D. The contact lenses show information about what wearers see 55. According to Paragraph 2, the microprojectors . A. put people’s privacy at risk B. save computer information C. cause serious illnesses D. support users’ needs 56. According to the passage, these contact lenses contribute to . A. saving users’ expenses B. reducing computers’ size C. limiting the field of vision D. guarding remote computers
