How are you? With this letter I’d like to introduce my hometown—Jiangsu Province to you .Situated in the east of China, Jiangsu is one of the most developed provinces of our country. It is a province with a large population of 70,000,000 but not much farmland for people to live on, and it lacks natural resources with an area of more than 100,000 km2 .
With the development of economy and growth of its population, more and more good farmland has been used to build houses and factories. As a result, farmland is decreasing year by year.

Food problems mainly lie in the two factors. On the one hand, some food producers lack social conscience. Centering on money, they produce lots of fake and junk food; On the other hand, other producers are short of common sense on food safety, thus poison and addictive abuse pollutes food.
For the sake of health, we must take food safety seriously. The majority of us are for reminders. They think that those who have done something wrong may not have noticed the warning signs. And reminders will surely help them to realize their mistakes and correct them willingly.
However, the others think these people should be fined because, generally speaking, people will not learn to obey rules unless they are taught a lesson. Generally speaking, the relationship between us students and our family members and classmates as well as teachers is good．We are getting on well with each other．However, there exist some problems．Some students in our school are easy to lose their temper because of anxiety and study burden．What’s worse, they sometimes quarrel with others, and even turn a deaf ear to their parents and teachers, which is very disappointing．

The 21st Century, a newspaper, published a report on Sept. 10th on school-age children attending school in China.
As is shown in the bar graph, the number of school age children attending school increased a lot between 1985 and 2002. In 1985, the percentage was just over 95.5%, but it rose in the five years that followed to about 98.5% in 1995. After that, the number continued to increase and by 2002, 99% of children were attending school.
These changes happened not only because, in 1986, the government introduced a law stating that by the year 2000 every Chinese child would have nine years of compulsory education, but also because more schools were built especially in the countryside.
Therefore, I dare to say, from this tendency that the percentage of school age children attending school will climb to 100% by 2010.

Is a Training Class or Family Teacher Necessary?
More and more middle school students are going to all kinds of training classes or having family teachers at the weekend. There are two different viewpoints about it.
Some thinks it necessary. Firstly, it’s more effective to study with a teacher than by themselves. Secondly, it can strengthen what is learnt in class. Besides, they can learn a lot more. Others think it unnecessary. For one thing, students can easily form the habit of dependence. For another, students need time to relax from time to time. What’s more, the purpose of many training classes and teachers is to make money.
