Song translation is not the same as other translation; because we must think about the melody when translate lyrics. From an aesthetic perspective, translation is an activity. It is an activity that aesthetic subjects (translator) analyzes the aesthetic factors, comprehensive, processing, until you finish all the aesthetic emersion activities. The translator should try to explore original language and its meaning, express the verve and artistic of original works via translation reproducing, to make audience moved; get beautiful enjoyment as appreciating original songs. This paper discussed English song translation from the Angle of aesthetics, using a new view from angle of reader. And also systematically expounded development of foreign songs and the representative figures in China. It pointed out the songs translation s problems and put forward the corresponding translation strategies based on the existing problems. Musician Mr. Xuefan has said, song translation, tune and lyrics already exists, i.e., we already got slipper, must searching for suitable foot. This improves only Cinderella deserves the slipper. From an aesthetic perspective, translation is an activity. Key words:Receptional Aesthetic ；English songs ；the strategies of translation 1.the development of our English song translation1.1Development According to professor QianRenKang probation, our song translation began in the end of Qing dynasty, traced back to American song ,translated by Ye Zhongleng in 1908. After the May Fourth movement, the Western culture dominates , large numbers of foreign songs and music was translated to our country, including the songs from UK, USA, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Russia and other countries. These translated songs roughly divided into following types: school songs, revolutionary songs, classic songs and the religion songs with “missionaries”. .1.When New China was founded in 1949, foreign songs translation has also entered a period of unprecedented prosperity, no matter the width and depth are all exceed the 1930s.Many excellent Song translators like Xuefan, Mao YUkuan, Zhengfeng, Shang Jiaxiang, Deng Yingyi and Lin Caibing, are emerging out and form a relatively stable team. Some songs are the most popular, such as , ,etc. translated by Dengyi . XueFan has translated and published around 1800 worldwide songs until now, of which , , , etc, was widely recited. But good times dont last long, “Ten years cultural revolution makes songs s translation once suspended until the 1980s. After Cultural Revolution, a glorious period of song translation comes in the 1950s and 1960s (XueFan, 2002:215). The revelation brings lots of pop songs for China during this period. In addition, song series were edited and published, one of the influential ones is lunched by Sahnghai wenyi press , total three episodes with 450 foreign songs. In the biggest trend and influence of songs translation, many people joined the ranks, like zhang ning, HeXiDe, Luo Chunakai, Shengyin, TaoShengJie, etc- the promising young people, they also turned into abundant fruits in the garden of song translation . 1.2 Representative people and works of English song translation Our English song translation experiences a tough tortuous process, many scholars have worked in this area, and they make enduring contribution to China s English song translation.Zhang ZhiJiang pays attention to translation problems of songs and lyrics very early. He thinks the lyrics translation should be obey the original meaning, try to make the translation rhyming fitness, suitable for Singing. According to the common features of lyrics and poetry, Wang Zuoliang, liu Dezhong based on the principle using poetry to translate poems, referred to translate song with song. Meanwhile, translator should clearly know features of lyrics: simple, colloquial, compared with general poetry.QianRenKang think, songs can be poetry that can be sung; translation of lyrics should both comply with the original rhythm and coordinate with music. The song translation is harder than poetry, we must considerate the original meaning and metrical. LiCheng realized, because the differences between Chinese and western cultures, .2.there would be difficult for understanding and expressing of song translation. Therefore, the lyric translation not only needed to note the understanding levels and logics, but also use and translate in sentences. Another important detail is that the background of song can not ignore. LiaoZhiYang consider songs translation should follow faithful, natural, elegant, sung-the four principles, and established three common methods: literal translation, meaning translation, changeable translation. XueFan comprehensively discusses the song s translation strategies according to own experience of song translation. He summers up his own translation experience in the book with eight characters: hold original meaning, molten new words . Song translation should take music as the first element of song translation; the words, syllables, must be equal to original. 1.3The current problems of English song translation1.3.1Quantity of Translation works declineIn the 1990s, with the development of high-tech, more and more foreign songs spread widely and be sung in the world popularly . However, the fact is not optimistic, lots of original songs, less translated. Some translated song set included: Liling edited Zhangning edited , Xuefan edited and etc. 1.3.2Less and less translatorMany translators working in translation area are in the form of stragglers, living a poverty of life. Famous translator Mr. Xuefan have translated and introduced abundant Soviet revolutionary songs into China. But he is unkown to the public at early age, his name and situation is known by others until old age. 1.3.3Translator team present agingCurrent song translation faced embarrassing situation of no step-forwarders. And also song translation has high and specific requirements for translator- not only need high foreign language level, the most important is good music training and poetry and literature training. So for song translation, our music personages often use two-cooperation ways, in order to reduce the burden of translation. But this method is difficult to get satisfied work. Because of this, song s translation becomes harder and harder with higher requirements for translator, letting some people prohibitive. .3.Overall, current songs translation meet six more, six less situation- more foreign original songs, less translated; more learning foreign song, less working for song translating; more foreign-Chinese translation, less Chinese-foreign; more Euro-pop translated, less multi-ethnic song; more lyrics translation, less match music; more translated works, less suitable for singing. 2.Receptional Aesthetic theory and its application in the song translation2.1Receptional Aesthetic and main ideas2.1.1Receptional aesthetics theory “Receptional aesthetics” this concept formed in Germany at end of the 1960s and early 1970s. The most influential aesthetics representatives are HansR Jauss and Iser Wolf gang. The core idea of receptional aesthetic is starting from audience, beginning from accepts. Receptional aesthetics thought, the literary works not directly lies in authors cultural background or text itself, but in the interaction of reader and the text. Aesthetics pulls reader to height of god,spread around the world after establishing.2.1.2“Reader focus” Receptional aestheticsReceptional aesthetics theory established readers important position in literary activity, created by aesthetic idea Reader focus. In one of founder HansR Jausss opinion: literature is noted as created for the receiver fundamentally , in the relationship of writer, works and reader, the latter is one power of create history, and should not consider as passive factor and simple reaction.HansR Jausss relized: the real value of works can reflect all the readers appreciation, review. From “Reader focus” perspective, society is the most powerful and effective convincing for evaluation scale for art of vocal performance-also consider as response and attitudes of receiver. Works value must be show in making a mass of audience accept.2.2The application of Receptional Aesthetic in the translation of songs The purpose of songstranslation has something in common with the key thought of Receptional Aesthetic: pay more attention to the feeling of recepter！The purpose of songstranslation is to let more and more people know the songs and appreciate the beauty of the music.So during the translation of songs ,the translator often have to consider the feeling of the receptor. Only the evaluation of the works is accepted by the reader,can the work be spread widely.According to the opinion of Receptional Aesthetic , in translation, the reader of the translated texts also has his Horizon of .4.Expectation, which prevent the translator from ignoring the important role of the reader , and in turn the translator has to combine the text with the Horizon of Expectation
