Teaching plan for Module9 Unit1 We need to protect animals.

Ⅰ.Teaching aims:
1.To understand conversations about animals in danger.
2.To master the important phrases and sentences know about Infinitive structures.
3.To learn to protect the animals.
Ⅱ.Key points:
1.Key phrases：learn about、think about、 make me sad、take away、live in peace、animals in danger、need to do sth、find out
2.Key structures：It was interesting to learn about the Wolong Panda Reserve.
I was so excited to see the pandas at last.
We need to protect them better. etc.
Ⅲ. Important and difficult points:
1. To talk about animals in danger and to protect them.
2. Infinitive structures: to + V.
Ⅳ.Teaching aids: OHP
Ⅴ.Teaching procedures:
Step 1: Lead-in
T:Do you like animals? Ss: Yes/No, I do (not).
T:How many animals do you know? Ss: Panada、tiger、dog……
Step2:Guessing game
1. Show some pictures of the animals part by part, ask the students to guess and try to describe them briefly.
2. Q：What is happening to them?
Step3: Listening and thinking
1. Listen to the recording and finish two questions, then check the answers together. (P72. Activity2)
2. Think out any other animals that are in danger. Show them some pictures of other animals in danger: Koala Bear、dolphin、alligator, etc.
Step4: Discussion
1. Discuss (4 Ss/ group): Why are the animals in danger?
2. Show the pictures about the it , summary the reason: hunting and killing , pollution, etc.
Step5: Listening
1. Pre-listening
Read the questions individually. (P73. Activity4)
2. While-listening
(1).Listen to the recording carefully, underline the useful expressions.
(2).Listen again and read after it, answer the questions.
3. Post-listening
Check and correct the answers.
Step 6: Language points
1. Learn the important phrases and try to master them:
be excited to do sth. 对做……感兴奋 at last = finally = in the end 最终，最后
learn about 了解……的情况 think about 考虑，思考
make me sad 使我悲伤 need to do sth. 需要做某事
stop the killing 停止杀戮 have no place to live in 没地方住
grow bigger 逐渐变大 take away 拿走，夺走
live in peace 住得和平/安宁 decide (not) to do sth. 决定（不）做某事
on earth 究竟 find out 找出，查出

2.Read the important sentences and find out the structure of infinitive.
(1).I was so excited to see the pandas at last.
(2). It was interesting to learn about the Wolong Panda Reserve.
(3). We need to protect them better.
(4).Many animals have no place to live in.
(5). Many people decide not to think about it.
★Infinitive structure: to+动词原形
Step7：Competition
1. Students are divided into 7 groups to play a game – Millionaire(百万富翁) : Choose the best answer. Students who get the correct answer can continue the game, if not, their group will lose the chance.
2. Students work in pairs to play the game-Tic-tac-toe（井字过三关）： anyone who can complete any one of sentences written on the paper will have a chance to play.
Step8: Conclusion
1. Conclude what they’ve learnt in this lesson:
(1).Animals in danger.
(2).Important phrases and sentences.
(3).Infinitive structures: to + V.
2. Watch a video (点击超链接), teach the students to love animals, to love the environment, to love the world.
Step9：Homework:
1. Read the text and try to retell it.
2. Make a plan to protect the animals.

教学反思：
本节课较顺利地完成了教学任务，不但让学生了解到濒危动物的现况，并且对他们进行情感教育—爱护环境，保护动物；还让他们掌握到本课的重点词汇及不定式语法的运用。课堂上采用的图片、视频都能很好地吸引学生的注意力，简单、有趣且多变的活动方式（百万富翁、井字过三关游戏）让学生在学中玩、在玩中有所得，整个课堂气氛很活跃。不足之处:在课件的部分页面处理上有待改进。
