Gertrude Chandler listened. Another train was passing her house in Putnam, Connecticut. She loved living across the street from the railway station.
Sometimes, Gertrude was ill and had to stay home from school. When she was not feeling well, books were her friends. In 1924, Gertrude wondered again about living in a train car. She decided to write a story called The Boxcar Children. The characters in the book were called the Alden children. They were named Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny. Afraid of living with a grandfather they had never met, the Alden children made a home for themselves in an old red boxcar they discovered in the woods. The oldest boy Henry worked in a nearby town to buy food and other things they needed. The brave children made a happy life for themselves and had many adventures (奇遇) together. When Gertrude became a teacher, she read the boxcar book to her pupils.
During the next thirty years, Gertrude wrote eighteen more books about the boxcar children. She died in 1979, but her well­loved books live on. The adventures of Henry, Jessie, Violet, and Benny still bring smiles to the faces of young readers.

Everglades National Park (大沼泽地国家公园) is located in the state of Florida.It is the largest wilderness in the entire country and makes up 25% of the wetlands in the state.The park is home to several rare and endangered species.It is also the third largest national park in the US, after Death Valley and Yellowstone.Each year, about 1 million tourists visit the park.On a global level, it has been announced as a World Heritage Site.

If you have a dream, go for it!
My dad talked of Tibet Autonomous Region in China's western part. Tibet was a place I wanted to to see and discover but I was unable to find the right time to go. After a few talks with my dad, we decided to take a pause in our lives for a few weeks in July 2019 to start an amazing adventure.
We started our journey on a Saturday morning at the Guangzhou train station in South China. We started the journey admiring the mysterious mountains of South China. The next day it changed quite suddenly to the dry, waterless landscape of central-west China as we passed through shaanxi and Gansu provinces. That evening we arrived in Xining, Qinghai Province,where we got onto the Xinig- Lhasa train.
We were welcomed on the train with Tibetan yogurt. The train signs were also written in Tibetan; the beautiful handwriting matched its environment and people.The following afternoon we arrived in Lhasha, one of the highest altitude city in the world. Lhasa is a gem hidden on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau(青藏高原)。We started our tour of Lhasa by exploring the palace and watching local Tibetans do morning prayers and dances in the park. Overlooking the Jokhang Temple, a golden temple in the middle of old Lhasa, we enjoyed an amazingly breathtaking view. We visited the temple next before walking in the old quarter and Barkhor Street in the evening, where we tried local food and bought local products.
The following day, we started our journey to the Mount Qomolangma base camp by road from Lhasa.Along the way, we stopped to admire the beautiful Yamdrok lake, a huge freshwater lake that is one of the three Sacred lakes (圣地)in Tibet.Yaks (牦牛) in blankets and bells at the lake made for a picturesque impression of perfect countryside Tibet.
About a week later, the highlight came in the afternoon when we arrived at the Mount Qomolangma base camp. We were staying in the guesthouse just next to the base camp. After dropping off our backpacks, we headed straight outside to see the magnificent Mt Qomolangma. There it was, the top of the mountain peeking though the clouds, astonishing us with its unbelievable height. We enjoyed the mountain waves and saw the beautiful clouds separated until the sunset over the peak, feeling I would have regretted for the rest of my life if I hadn’t made the journey.
