状语从句（Adverbial  Clause）
一． 状语从句
含义：状语从句是用来修饰主句中的动词，副词和形容词的从句。根据其含义状语从句可分为时间状语从句，地点状语从句，条件状语从句， 原因状语从句，结果状语从句，比较状语从句，目的状语从句，让步状语从句。

二． 时间状语从句
含义：在一个复合句中，从句表达的意思是主句动作或状态发生的时间，那么这个表示时间的从句就叫做时间状语从句。
引导词：when, while, as, before, after, as soon as, until 等

和......同时
1. 引导的从句的时间状语只可是“时间段”；
2.从句的动词只可是延续性动词或表状态的词；
3.从句中持续性词常用进行时态
I met Anne while I was taking a walk in the park.
While he was watching TV, he fell asleep.
as
“一边……一边”
1. as引导的动作是延续性的动作
2. as也可以强调“一先一后”
We always sing as we walk.
The students took notes as
 they listened. 

as soon as

一......就......
1.主句与从句的动作几乎同时发生；
2.“主将从现”
Please call me as soon as he es back.
I will call you as soon as I reach home.

before/after

在......之前/后
1. 在before和after引导的时间状语从句“主将从现”
2.after引导先后发生的两个动作时，这两个动作都可以用一般过去时
He will e to see you before he leaves Beijing.
After I came back he went to the factory.

until

直到......
1.主句为肯定句中，谓语动词必须是延续性动词；
2.否定句中，谓语动词既可是延续性动词也可是非延续动词。
He will wait until I arrive.
The girl didn’t go to the bed until she finished her homework by herself.（直到···才···）

since

自从
表示从起点到现在的时间段，主句一般用完成时态。
She has lived alone since her husband died five years ago.

注（小技巧）：从句若是用了进行时（即动词用了v.-ing的）常用while引导。从句不是用进行时的先考虑用引导词when

三．条件状语从句 
含义：在一个复合句中，从句作为主句的条件，这个句子就是条件状语从句。
要点： 表示状语从句由连词if, unless (=if not) 引导。

原因状语从句
1. 表示必然的因果关系，语气较强，通常放在主句之后，若强调原因则放在主句之前；2.常用来回答why的提问；3.不和so在同一个句子中使用.4. 和because of +短语/名词/代词可以互换，because+句子；
We can’t go to the party because of the rain.= We can’t go to to party because it’s raining.
Since you can’t answer the question, I’ll ask someone else. 

so that
以便；为了；目的是

目的状语从句
1. so that 引导的目的状语从句中通常有can,could,may,might, should等情态动词；
2.在主句之后，从句前不用逗号，有时可省略that
They worked very hard so that they could finish the work before supper.
He got up early so that he could catch the early bus.

so因此；所以

结果状语从句
1. so常用来连接并列句，前一分句表示原因，so后的分句表示结果；
2.so 和because 不能同时出现在一个句子中。
It’s very cold, so I wrote a heavy coat.= Because it’s very cold, I wore a heavy coat.

so...that
如此......以至于

结果状语从句
1. so+adj/adv.;that +结果状语从句；
2.that+肯定句时可以与enough to...互换；that+否定句可以与too...to互换。
Miss Gao asked a question. It was so easy that everybody could answer it.= Miss Gao asked a question. It was easy enough for everybody to answer it.
The girl is so young that she can’t dress himself.
=The girl is too young to dress herself.
although/though
虽然；然而
让步状语从句
1.although比though更正式；2.不能与but连用，但可以与yet或still 连用。
He is very busy, but he is very happy. =Although he is very busy, he is very happy.
where
wherever无论什么地方
地点状语从句
1. Where＋地点从句，（there）＋主句 “哪里……哪里就……”
2. wherever＋地点从句，＋主句
Where there is no rain, farming is difficult.
Where there is a will, there  is a way.
