第六讲 状语从句
一．知识讲解
考点1： 引导时间状语从句的从属连词
when ,as, while, after, before, since, once, until, till, as soon as, every time/ each time, the moment, the minute, immediately, directly, instantly等。
温馨提示：1. be doing…when…,be about to do…when…常表示“正在……突然……”或 “正要……这时……”,如：I was about to fall asleep when my sister came in.
I was walking along the street , when I met him.
2. while 引导的从句的谓语动词必须是延续性的，并强调主句和从句的动作同时发生（或者相呼应），此外，while有时还可以表示对比。如：
We are cleaning the classroom while they are playing the football.
3.The moment --- 一……就…… =as soon as , immediately, 如：
---Did you remember to give Mary the money you owed her?
---Yes, I gave her the moment I saw her.
No sooner than --- 一……就……=hardly… when如：
No sooner had he arrived than he went away again.
考点2： 引导地点状语从句的从属连词
where , wherever,等。
Where --- 在……地方 如： Put the medicine where you can easily get it.
Where there is a will, there is a way.
Wherever --- 无论哪里 如： He follows her wherever she goes.
考点3： 引导原因状语从句的从属连词
because, since, as, now that, in that, for等。
1.Because --- 因为, 如：Mr Smith was very upset because he couldn’t find his luggage.
2.As --- 因为, 通常放在句首， 如：As he is honest and modest, all his friends like him.
3.Since ---语气较弱, 常译为既然， 如：Since the purser didn’t tell us what to do, we can relax.
4.Now that --- 既然， 如：Now that you are here, you can join us.
5.For ---语气最弱，不放句首，表补充说明，如：The ground was wet, for it rained yesterday.
考点4： 引导让步状语从句的从属连词
although, though, even if, even though, as, whether…or, no matter what/who/how/when, whatever, whoever, however, whenever 等。
1.Although, though ---虽然；although 常放在句首。though可以用于倒装。如：
Although it was raining, the plane managed to take off.
Child though he was, he did quite well.
2.As --- 尽管； as 引导让步状语从句时，句子通常倒装。可与though 互换。
如：Busy as he is, he never misses a football match.
3.Even if /even though ---即使 如：Even if you don’t like your boss, you should do your work.
4.However --- 不论， however 引导让步状语从句时，句子通常倒装。
如：He couldn’t get there on time however fast he drove.
5.No matter (what, when, where, how) ---无论（什么，何时，何地，怎样）如：
The old man wouldn’t believe anything no matter what you said.
6.While ---尽管 如： While I have sympathy for you, I can’t help you.
7.Whether ---不管，常与or not 连用;如Whether his idea is practical or not, we plans to adopt it.
考点5： 引导条件状语从句的从属连词
if, unless, as long as, so long as, on condition that, suppose, supposing等。
1.If --- 如果; 如： If you don’t hurry up, you will miss the plane.
2.Unless ---除非=if not; 如：We can’t get there on time unless we book the earliest flight
3.As long as --- 只要; 如： We will succeed as long as we keep on trying.
4.In case --- 假使, 如果; 如： The plane cannot take off in case it rains.
5.Provided that 如果,有时省略 that 如：
The plane will be in good condition provided that it is taken care of carefully.
6.On condition that --- 条件是… 如：
He said that he would come to the meeting on condition that no one asked him to speak.
考点6： 引导结果状语从句的从属连词
so that , so… that…, such…that…等。
1.So… that --- 太……以至于， so 后面应用形容词或副词；如：
The flight scheduled so early that nobody wanted to look on it.
2. Such …that… ---太……以至于, 用法与so…that相同，但such 后面应用名词。如：
The foreign visitor was such a fast speaker that nobody could understand him.
考点7： 引导目的状语从句的从属连词
so that, in order that, for fear that, in case等。
1.(So) that --- 以便, 从句中常常使用一些情态动词，如：can, could, may, might, should等
Let’s take the front seats (so) that we may see more clearly.
2.in order that --- 为了, 与so that相同,从句中常常使用一些情态动词，如：can, could, may, might, should等 。如：
School was closed early in order that the children might go home ahead of the storm.
3.for fear that --- 生怕; 为了防止; 如：He took the name down for fear that he should forget it.
4.in case --- 万一 如： Better take more clothes in case the weather is cold.
考点8： 引导比较状语从句的从属连词
as…as, not as…as, not so…as, …than等。
1.As…as… --- 像……一样 如：
If you don’t want to miss the flight, you need to be at the airport as early as possible.
2.Not so (as)… as… --- 不像…… 如： The job is not so difficult as I thought it would be.
考点9： 引导方式状语从句的从属连词
(just )as, as if , as though等。
1.as ---与…… 一样， 如： Do in Rome as the Romans do.
2.as if, as though --- 仿佛, 由as if或 as though引导的从句中可用虚拟语气 如：
She stood at the door as if (=as though) she were waiting for someone.
