Procedures(教学步骤): Step one(第一步) Lead In(导入) Language and Culture Notes 1. Background information 2. I’m off to the gym. 3. I can’t always make it 4. recreational swimming Step two(第二步) Pre-reading Tasks: 1、Listening Tasks, try to guess Why Don’t You Join Me at the Gym Sometime? 2、Try to guess what the story is about. Step three (第三步) Analysis of the Structure of Text: 1、Read the text as quickly as possible, finish the comprehension excises part A. 2、Summarize the text with one or two sentences. 3、Ask students to divide the text into three parts according to three key words and three questions I provide. Procedures(教学步骤): Step one(第一步) Lead In(导入) Do you know these stars? 1、Give the students some minutes to discuss the stars in the picture. 2、Match their names with the photos and tell their occupations. Step two(第二步) Pre-reading Tasks: 1、From the pictures, try to guess the relationship between Charles M.Schultz and Snoopy and get more information about Charles M.Schultz by completing a profile. 2、Try to guess what the story is about. Step three (第三步) Analysis of the Structure of Text: 1、Read the text as quickly as possible, finish the comprehension excises part A on page 128. 2、Summarize the text with one or two sentences. 3、Ask students to divide the text into three parts according to three key words and three questions I provide. ① School: what is Sparky’s performance in school? According to the teachers and classmates, is Sparky an intelligent student in studies? ② Interest: what is Sparky’s interest? How many times was Sparky rejected with his works? ③ Success: did he gain the success finally?
